Topic: Student Retention and Lesson Atmosphere
Presenter: Kenneth Thompson
We have quite a task ahead of us in each lesson. We teach theory, technique, reading skills, memory skills, performance skills etc. Lesson atmosphere is way that we convey all of this information. How do I say it? How do I want the student to feel when they are with me? Have I set up a safe enough environment for learning to occur but an intense and challenging enough environment for follow through to occur?

Workshop: How to Use J.S. Bach’s Pedagogical Approach
Presenter: Eldred Marshall
Bach, the Pedagogue: J. S. Bach was as a largely self-taught musician who left behind his own (extant) pedagogical system for keyboard (organ as well as harpsichord). This is of interest to us as 21st Century musicians and music teachers. This presentation will offer some various approaches to his material in order to aid and assist modern teachers in their practice.
